That being said, you should know that Keighley has already stated that you should expect this year’s Summer Game Fest show to primarily focus on previously revealed titles. While the phrase “previously revealed titles” covers a lot of ground (more on that in a bit), it still sounds like there may be fewer world-first reveals at Summer Game Fest 2022 than we’ve seen at Keighley-hosted events in the past.
Still, a brief look at some of Summer Game Fest 2022’s confirmed games (as well as some of the event’s biggest announcement leaks, rumors, and even our own educated predictions) strongly suggests that this will be one show you won’t want to miss.

It’s probably safe to expect more confirmed games to appear in the days/hours leading up to the show. If and when those confirmations do happen, we will update the above list accordingly.
Summer Game Fest 2022 – The Biggest Leaks and Rumors So Far
God of War Ragnarok Gets a Release Date Trailer
Recently, industry analyst Millie Amand shared a strange tweet that strongly suggests that she believes God of War Ragnarok will be featured at Summer Game Fest. Furthermore, SGF organizer and host Geoff Keighley reminded those disappointed by the news that the show will primarily focus on previously announced games that Elden Ring was a previously announced game that tore the house down at previous shows. That statement could easily be taken to mean that another previously revealed major game we haven’t seen in quite a while may also make an appearance at SGF. While it would be unusual for PlayStation to reveal the next major GoW trailer at SGF rather than one of their own events, this does make a lot of sense. There likely won’t be another major State of Play presentation until around September, so this is a good chance for PlayStation to release another teaser for the game before unleashing a gameplay showcase later this year. I suspect the trailer itself will include a little gameplay, a little more story, and that long-awaited release date.
2K Games Shows Off Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ Rumored Rework
Reports suggest that Marvel’s Midnight Suns is being reworked in some way. Recent leaks also strongly suggest that the game is currently scheduled for an October 2022 release date. Put it all together, and you’ve got a major 2022 game that we’re probably going to see more of in the very near future. At this point, I’d be shocked if we don’t see Midnight Suns at Summer Game Fest. While I’m actually quite excited about this game, I think that a new preview could help address some of the fears people had when they heard this game will be a card-based strategy title. Those promotions and some potentially questionable “insider” reports have led many to believe there is a Black Adam update coming to Fortnite that could coincide with the battle royale’s next major update. At the very least, we know that Epic Games is an SGF partner, and there are only so many games they can realistically showcase at that event.
Hideo Kojima’s “Overdose” Could Make an Appearance
Take this with a grain of salt, but recent rumors suggest that Hideo Kojima is working on a horror game known as Overdose. The game will allegedly star Margaret Qualley and be playable in both first and third person. While I suspect we may actually see a different Kojima game before this one (more on that in a bit), it’s worth noting that rumors regarding some kind of Kojima horror title have been circulating through the internet for months. It’s probably a little too early to expect a full showcase for this game (if it even exists), but it’s worth keeping this project in mind.
Summer Game Fest 2022: Announcement and Reveal Predictions
A New Hogwarts Legacy Trailer
We know WB is bringing Gotham Knights to Summer Game Fest, but the publisher hasn’t confirmed if they intend to showcase any other during the event. However, I strongly suspect that we’ll get a Hogwarts Legacy update sometime during the upcoming show. Hogwarts Legacy is arguably big enough to justify another standalone showcase event sometime down the line, but WB may be wise to share a brief gameplay update about this title during SGF to help keep the game in the conversation during the height of reveal season. If Death Stranding 2 is nearly ready for its public debut, then it makes a lot of sense for that debut to occur at Summer Game Fest. Geoff Keighley loves to share updates to Hideo Kojima games whenever he can, and the leaks and rumors about this game have been coming fast and furious in recent weeks. There’s just a lot of smoke around this fire.
Elden Ring DLC Reveal
This is undoubtedly the biggest swing out of all my predictions, but it’s also not quite as crazy as you might think. Historically, FromSoftware doesn’t wait that long to release DLC for games they intend to support with add-on content. While it took just over a year for the studio to release the first piece of Dark Souls DLC, subsequent DLC for Soulsborne games have all been released within a year of the base game’s debut. While we still don’t know if Elden Ring will get DLC updates, I’d be genuinely shocked if FromSoftware doesn’t release some kind of additional content for the game given its historic success. If they are working on that content, then the studio’s previous DLC release timelines strongly suggest that we may get a sneak peek at that DLC sooner rather than later.
Mafia 4’s Trailer Showcases the Prequel’s Story and Setting
The latest rumors regarding that mysterious Mafia 4 project suggest that the next Mafia sequel is actually a canonical prequel that will follow a young Don Salieri as he rises to power in Sicily. Those details are subject to change, but it does sound like the next Mafia game is further along in development than some previously suspected.
Obsidian’s Avowed Is Showcased Ahead of the Xbox/Bethesda Event
I was as surprised as anyone to see that Xbox was listed as an official partner of Summer Game Fest. While I still think that Xbox is saving the majority of their reveals for the upcoming Xbox/Bethesda showcase event, most people seem to believe that Xbox will show something at the official SGF show. Assuming that all of the Bethesda reveals will be reserved for Xbox’s big event, I think Obsidian’s Avowed ends up being the game that Xbox brings to SGF’s digital stage. Some of those close to the project have been hyping it up on social media recently, and it’s that kind of game that has just enough appeal to stand out at SGF without Xbox needing to reveal a larger project ahead of their own show.
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Teaser Trailer
In case you didn’t hear, BioWare recently confirmed that Dragon Age 4 is officially called Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. While it sounds like the studio still has a lot of work to do on the game before it’s ready for a full gameplay reveal, it does feel like we’re due for some kind of Dragon Age update that’s more substantial than a blog post. That being the case, I think there’s a good chance that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is featured in some capacity at Summer Game Fest (even if we only get a teaser trailer that solidifies the game’s new name). One way or another, EA will likely bring at least one upcoming project to SGF.
